Welcome to our blog series, Salesforce Partner Success in the Classroom. Over the next few months, we’ll introduce various Salesforce partners supporting colleges in teaching Salesforce content or curriculum. Along the way, you’ll hear stories of the incredible work happening across the ecosystem to create and skill-up early-stage talent.
Growing our ecosystem, together
I’m lucky to spend my days working with innovative educators and forward-thinking Salesforce partners shaping the workforce of the future. My role with the Salesforce Talent Alliance helps connect partners to talent at the university level.
There is incredible growth projected in the Salesforce Ecosystem, with 4.2 million new jobs anticipated by 2025. The Salesforce Talent Alliance works with our partners and customers to bring new Trailblazers into the ecosystem and build a diverse workforce that reflects the world at large.
So how can partners think strategically about building new talent to keep up with the demand?
Create a talent pipeline by co-teaching Salesforce
Coming from a recruiting background, I know that finding job-ready talent isn’t always easy.
Salesforce Partners can build a perpetual pipeline of early professionals by training students on Salesforce skills before they enter the workforce. Partners do this by working with educators to deliver content, curriculum, and skills development, giving students real-world context.
Co-teaching support ranges from answering questions to being a guest speaker to overseeing a case competition or actual product implementation. Partners may also help map student career interests to product and certification paths, so students can find a role they truly love. There’s no one size fits all approach for curriculum and content!
Here’s just a few examples of how Salesforce partners are bringing Salesforce curriculum to classrooms around the world:
- Infosys sets students up for CRM success by providing hands-on support at UT Dallas Jindal School, along with career exploration opportunities, and technical office hours for 40 students working through the Admin Super Set.
- University of Buffalo students learn Salesforce skills through curriculum and Trailhead. Consulting Partner Empodio provides mentorship, helping them implement the Nonprofit Success Pack for local nonprofits.
- Planet Soft co-created a six-part micro-course with the University of Belgrade that introduces students to all things Salesforce. The course also provides case studies on how to set up a Salesforce CRM for a retail company and an IT company.
- Esor Consulting Group utilizes talent from HBCUforce students to help develop the next generation of Salesforce consulting professionals. Select students are offered internships to work on education and non-profit Salesforce implementations.
- ATG (a Cognizant company) and the University of Montana created a perpetual early talent pipeline and hired many college graduates across different roles in their Salesforce practice. Read the interview here.
...and that’s just a sneak peek of a few incredible partnerships!
