The Salesforce Ecosystem will create $1.6 trillion USD in new business revenue and 9.3 million jobs by 2026. This presents an incredible opportunity for companies to grow their businesses and for individuals to grow their careers. Learn from Dreamforce ’22 Talent Alliance employers below about their top advice for growing your practice with new talent.

Tap into reskilled talent.

Liberty Mutual Insurance has found success in partnering with the Salesforce Pathfinder Program to develop a technical internship program for Pathfinder graduates, which serves a diverse population of folks from all walks of life, many of whom have reskilled from other careers. Over 80% of Liberty Mutual’s Pathfinder interns have been converted into full-time employees. “Upskilling programs like Salesforce Pathfinder are great opportunities for candidates seeking a career change, as well as employers seeking to create new and diverse talent pipelines,” said Brent Coe, Director of Lead and Agency Management at Liberty Mutual Insurance.

Slalom Consulting is also focused on the reskill and upskill audience through their Slalom Salesforce Academy. On this focus, Chris Floyd, Principal at Slalom, said, “We have found great success with individuals who know industries like the back of their hand and are looking to change into something different. There’s magic that happens when those experiences and viewpoints are introduced.”

Investment in junior talent pays dividends.

As Gavin Brown, CEO of PwC Indigenous Consulting, said, “Growing your own talent in a supply-constrained environment means you will not only have skilled employees, but employees that align with your values. We expect we will have a level of loyalty that will more than pay for the upfront investment.” Gavin and his team experienced this firsthand when they teamed up with Revolent Group to create the Indigenous Tech Academy, focused on Australia’s First Nations peoples.

Rajeev Gupta of DBSync shared their story, as well: “One of our competitors for Salesforce and QuickBooks integration decided to shut down their service and agreed to transfer hundreds of their customers to us. This was a major task, and we needed Salesforce resources fast. Mom Relaunch had a pool of them, and we were able to leverage them and manage this massive spike of work, helping us achieve over 20% growth. Since then, we have hired Customer Success Managers from Mom Relaunch, which has improved customer retention by 10% and more.”

Partnerships can help lighten the load.

“We struggle with the same problem that so many SIs [System Integrators] struggle with—there aren’t enough Salesforce consultants out there. So we had to take the bold decision to create our own.“

- Rebecca Davis, Solutions and Design Director, EMEA at EPAM

EPAM partnered with LDN Apprenticeships, which has helped them hire net-new talent. As Rebecca said, "Because [LDN Apprenticeships] are providing Salesforce training and getting them admin-certified, they’ve already helped the person pass the biggest hurdle." As an added bonus, Rebecca noted, “Junior talent ask great questions that keep our more senior Business Analysts engaged and on their toes. This is a great opportunity to create a learning and supportive culture in your business.”

Never stop iterating.

Since 2018, Deloitte Digital has launched 13 cohorts of the Salesforce Pathfinder Program, co-founded with Salesforce. As each iteration taught Deloitte Digital and Pathfinder Program more about the needs of the new generation of the Salesforce workforce, Deloitte Digital purposefully explored new ways to provide mentorship, training, and hands-on experience. The result? Wave- a program furthering the Deloitte-Salesforce commitment to ecosystem development at a global scale. Deloitte’s Erica Adamsand Harry Datwani presented at this year’s Dreamforce to IT leaders on how to leverage feedback from new talent initiatives to build sustainable pipeline development initiatives that are a positive force for change.
